Axis A9188 Network Relay can be used to extend the functionality of Axis A1001 or A1601 to handle more doors or functions. The doors will not have the same full functionality for physical reader, rex, and monitoring inputs, but we can get pretty close.
This guide will show how to set up a REX button linked to an Axis A9188 Network Relay controlled door using the AUX inputs. We recommend matching them 1-1 to simplify installation.
To add a REX button to an AXIS A9188, you must do the following steps.
Physically connect the button to AUX.
Connect the REX button to I/O AUX matched to the relay with the same number. One of the wires connects to GND (the arrow) and the other to the number of the relay (AUX 1, for example).
Add a user to the Axis Network Door Controller
Log in to the local device and go to Setup -> Additional Controller Configuration. See the screenshot below; this will bring you to the old Axis interface.
The next step is to press Users and add setup a username & password you will use when creating the Recipient on the Axis Network Relay.
Add a recipient to Axis Network Relay.
Log in to the local device and go to Setup -> Additional Device configuration. See the screenshot below; this will bring you to the old Axis interface.
Add a recipient to the network relay Under Events. See the screenshot below.
We need to create a recipient that will call and open the right door on the door controller when we get a signal on the corresponding AUX Input.
You will need to fill out the form with the type HTTP, the IP address of the door control, and the username & password you created in the earlier step.
You will need to find the associated token of the door you want to open. Do this by logging into Entryfy as a Hardware Manager.
Then you need to browse to your door controller and press Advanced Configuration. You will find the token you need under the Doors section. See the screenshot below.
Replace the IP and append the token fetched from Entryfy and fill out the URL field.

Add Action Rule
The last step is to create an Action Rule that will trigger on an I/O input and sends the HTTP recipient we configured in the previous step. See the screenshot below.
Set up the rule to trigger on the digital input you connected previously and choose to send an HTTP notification to the recipient added earlier.
