Bypass Alarm through a pulse when access is granted

An Axis Network Door Controller can be configured to send a pulse to turn off a third-party alarm locally through wiring using the AUX interface.

This guide will show how to set up an Alarm Status input and an Alarm Bypass Output on the Axis Network Door Controller.

Physically connect the button to AUX.

Connect the alarm status input to the I/O AUX of choice; in this example, we have chosen AUX 1. One of the wires connects to GND (the arrow) and the other to the number of the relay (AUX 1, for example).

Configure AUX to work as an output.

Log in to the local device and go to Setup -> Additional Controller Configuration. See the screenshot below; this will bring you to the old Axis interface.

Go to System Options, then Ports & Devices. Under I/O Ports, it is possible to configure how the AUX ports will function. We set AUX 1 in this example to an output port and named it Bypass Alarm.

Add Action Rule 

The last step is to create an Action Rule that will trigger the AUX I/O output when the door state is changed to Access Granted. This rule will begin once a door is opened and toggle AUX 1 for 1 second.

If you only want to trigger the rule when it is active, you can always connect an alarm status to AUX 2 and use it as an additional conditional to prevent this rule from activating when the alarm is off.
